Federal Government Rebate

The Federal Government has announced that rebates of $500 will be available for rainwater tanks as of the 2008/2009 financial year.

The Government, through the Department of Climate Change, has also announced that low interest loans of up to $10,000 will also be available to help fund water and energy saving initiatives for households.

Greywater Treatment Rebates

The Federal Government has announced funding for households and businesses to install greywater recycling systems. Rebates of $500 will be available for approved systems commencing 2008/2009 financial year.

Solar Hot Water Rebates

Solar hot water systems attract various rebates and incentives. All systems are eligible for Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) and their value varies from time to time. As of July 2008, a standard 2 x panel 300 litre solar hot water system would attract 30 RECs with a value of $46 each which totals $1,380 for the system. In addition, both NSW and Federal Governments offer rebates for replacing electric hot water heaters with solar systems.
